Appleton Estate Reserve 8 Year is crafted in Jamaica. It is comprised of blend that includes Appleton Estate's Special Reserve Pot Still rums. The rums were aged a minimum of 8 years.
Sipped the rum has a little more “fire” in its belly than the nose might have suggested. That said it is still very sippable at 43% ABV. It’s certainly not “rough” in anyway.
Appleton 8 can give a very good introduction to rum in general. It’s well made, has a true age statement, has no added sugar and it’s rummy with a mild Jamaican funk which is ideal to gently move people into the fascinating realm of Jamaican rum.
