  • Time will tell if Triple Oak can make a big enough splash to stick around in the Angel’s Envy lineup, or whether it can ultimately have the same depth of influence that the port cask-finished bourbon has had through the years.

  • This is an easy pickup and easily outshines Angel's Envy's standard bourbon and rye in my opinion.

  • It captures all of the notes of the season and the triple oak finishing is complimentary to the entire spectrum of flavors without any one finish dominating the others.

  • If you’re a fan of Angel’s Envy, I think you’ll enjoy this new iteration. And if you’re someone who has gotten a little tired of cask-finished whiskeys, Triple Oak might give you a reason to reconsider.

  • It would be all too easy for this to fall into “oak bomb” territory. Instead, we end up with a whiskey that has an identity and flavor even beyond the wood.

  • Nose:

Rich on the nose with surprising depth. Toffee, sticky pudding, big oak and cracked pepper, decadent caramels and tobacco, lightly nutty and notes of mocha, espresso and ginger.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel — nice texture, crisp, not syrupy. Apples, pears, cola, cocoa, orange peel, cracked pepper and spritely ginger pop at first. With more time, more brûlée and toffee develop. It’s sweet, spicy, fruity, super fun.

  • Finish:

Moderate finish with pleasant spice, toffee, tobacco and some pear, orange and mocha here, as well.

  • Overall:

Easily the most unique Angel’s Envy that I’ve had, and it’s a lovely departure from the brand's typical wine-finished route. It’s really nice! This is an easy pickup and easily outshines Angel's Envy's standard bourbon and rye in my opinion.
