Set to release Oct. 10, 2025, Angel's Envy Cask Strength 10 Year Old is the first age-stated release to come from the brand. Angel's Envy releases a cask-strength bourbon each year; this is that release, just age-stated for the first time. Distilled by an undisclosed Kentucky producer (considering Angel's Envy's Louisville distillery opened nine years ago, in 2016, we can safely assume this 10-year whiskey was distilled elsewhere), this bourbon is finished in port casks and bottled at 122.6 proof. Priced at $249.99 per 750 milliliter bottle, the bourbon is finished in port barrels, as is usual for Angel's Envy.

  • This isn't reinventing the wheel at Angel's Envy in the way that I expect future releases will under the guidance of Master Distiller Owen Martin, but it's just tight bourbon; no off notes to speak of, and it's exquisitely balanced.

  • Nose:

Sweet, sticky port gently wafts out from the glass, surrounded by desserty and nutty notes: chopped walnuts, slivered almonds, brown sugar, cinnamon toast. The port provides a plum note.

  • Taste:

The palate is sweet and satisfying, delivering a delicious balance of oak, sweetness and port: Brown sugar, light tannin, strawberry candies, saltwater taffy, plum, cherry, fig, cinnamon, caramel, cracked pepper, sweet oak.

  • Finish:

The finish is long and satisfying, leading with cocoa and toffee, followed by chocolate-covered cherries, salted caramel, cinnamon, tobacco, grilled apricot and a kiss of lemon balm.

  • Overall:

The first age-stated batch of Angel's Envy Cask Strength Bourbon is truly delicious stuff. The port works in beautiful harmony with the distillate. This isn't reinventing the wheel at Angel's Envy in the way that I expect future releases will under the guidance of Master Distiller Owen Martin, but it's just tight bourbon; no off notes to speak of, and it's exquisitely balanced. Plus, pretty damn drinkable at north of 122 proof.
