Amrut Indian Single Malt Whisky, first released in 2017, is made from malted barley and bottled at 46% ABV in a 750 ml format. It is non-chill filtered with no added color and hosts a suggested retail price of $49.99.
Creaminess continues on the palate, with apple, aromatic spices of pepper, ginger, and aniseed, with passion fruit, clementine, and zested limes. This should be your starting point for exploring Amrut's whiskies.
An approachable peat level for sure, though I want more flavor and impact on the front half of my tongue and palate. There’s fruitiness to be found there, but it’s largely dominated by the back palate explosion of chocolate and coffee behind the peat. Flavor-wise this is well-balanced.
