Produced in Akashi, Japan, Single Malt Whisky Akashi is distilled by Eigashima Shuzo from 100% lightly peated malted barley. This non-age-statement whisky is aged approximately 5 to 8 years in ex-bourbon, barley shochu, sherry casks and new oak barrels. Bottled at 46% ABV, it spotlights the coastal climate of Hyogo Prefecture. The brand also makes a heavily peated version.
