Admiral Rodney Saint Lucia Rum HMS Formidable is produced by Saint Lucia Distillers and aged 9 to 12 years in tropical conditions. Distilled entirely on a Coffey Column Still, it contains no pot still distillates. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is part of the Admiral Rodney lineup, which includes HMS Princessa and HMS Royal Oak.
The finish has some toasty wood, dark chocolate, and more dried berry notes to show, but there’s an austerity here that makes this feel like it could use some propping up to better showcase its charms. Try it in a rum-based Manhattan
