In January 2026, Absolut Vodka uncorked a collaboration with Louisiana's most iconic hot sauce, Tabasco. The flavored spirit is bottled at 38% ABV and is made without added sugars, instead relying on a natural essence derived from fermented, aged red pepper mash. According to the label, this $19.99 bottle is two and half spicy marks out of five. (Assuming it's in the same ballpark as Tabasco Original Red Sauce, the Scoville Rating would be around 2,500 - 5,000.)

Smells exactly as advertised! A bold punch of spicy pepper with some lingering earthy funk. It's got a bit of sweetness too — reminds me of the flavoring used on Sweet Thai Chili potato chips.
Spice and cayenne all the way down. Surprisingly, I'm not getting much of the vinegar flavor that Tabasco is known for. Instead, its has more of an earthy vibe that reminds me of ground black pepper (applied in heaps, not hints), alongside some fermentation zing. A few degrees more spicy than standard Tabasco.
Cayenne pepper, cayenne pepper and more cayenne pepper.
It's hard to review a bottle that was so clearly made for the memes. That said, this is a great deal better than most other spice-infused spirits on the shelf. It has none of that Hot Tamale candy flavor that I despise in these products, instead leaning into a nice punch of pepper that tastes about as fresh as it gets for a bargain-bin vodka. Does it remind me of Tabasco? Not really. Would it make a killer party shot or Bloody Mary mixer? Why not.
