Abraham Bowman Oak Series: American Oak is a 12-year-old limited-edition bourbon aged in charred American white oak barrels. It is the second release in the distillery’s experimental series exploring oak varietals, following the March 2024 French Oak release. Bottled at 135 proof, it was made available through an online lottery from November 25 to December 2, with winners required to purchase in person at the A. Smith Bowman Gift Shop. Each bottle is priced at $79.99.

Huge and rich on the nose: Brown sugar, heavy barrel char, pepper, ginger, heavy oak and orange peel.
Rich on the palate with tons of oak, pepper, char, honey, root beer, cocoa, and tobacco.
Long finish. The ethanol pops here a touch, but there’s so much richness going on. Heavy caramel, brown sugar, cola, root beer and sweet oak.
This is a bruiser, but it’s damn good. It’s everything American whiskey lovers will adore.
