  • One moment it’s light and fruity, the next some darker notes appear and then back to the lighter sweeter notes. It seems to shift in the glass, but there’s always a nice balance to the Aberfeldy 12 – a fun and flavorful dram I’m enjoying more and more with every sip!

  • Not necessarily what I would want on a cold night in November, but something more suited to a backyard barbecue.

  • Additionally, there's a slight nutty and wood spice finish which winds up on the dry side.

  • The taste starts off thick and sweet, then explodes in a burst of cinnamon and other spices that fades to show notes of molasses and hazelnut. The finish is slightly tart.

  • Youthful, orange marmalade finish with a hint of spice. A pleasant, easy-going whisky.

  • I’ve just read my notes for the older ‘livery’, and it seems that what’s inside this lovely new bottle hasn’t changed. Solid malty malt.

  • The finish offers just a touch of spice and at least nods toward the oak barrel, but it never attempts to complicate what comes across as an affordable sipper to get the night started.

  • There’s not a ton going on. None of it is bad, but this is pretty bland.
