45th Parallel R100 Rye Whiskey is produced by 45th Parallel Distillery in New Richmond, Wisconsin. It is made from a 100% rye mashbill using grain sourced from Rusmar Farm, located eight miles from the distillery. First barreled in 2009, the whiskey is aged six years in 53-gallon barrels and distilled on-site using a double pot still.

  • All of this is to say that R100 is one of the most unique whiskeys I’ve tried in some time, all without the default gimmick of a finishing cask. I hope 45th Parallel lean into this product a bit more with cask strength and/or higher aged options, because the realized potential is already quite remarkable.
