A member of the 2023 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, this year's Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey is distilled and bottled by Buffalo Trace at 124.9 proof.
This year’s Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye holds its own as a continuation of a consistent and delicious pedigree. It’s (slightly) tempered compared to last year’s uncommonly bold flavors, but that doesn’t mean the final drinking experience is anemic in the slightest.

House Review
Nose:
Huge nose loaded with brown butter, nutmeg, brown sugar, cracked pepper, rich buttercream and nougat. Goliath.
Taste:
Rich with great viscosity on the palate. Tons of layers, packed with rye character. Brown sugar, cracked pepper, caramel and candied ginger. Huge baking spice, pleasant heat, loads of nougat and an opulent combo of brown butter and nutmeg.
Finish:
Long, complex and a touch proofy but packed with rye spice and brown sugar. The finish is packed with decadent dessert and spice, balanced nicely and hangs on for an eternity.
Overall:
This is one of the best THH releases I’ve had in a good long while. Killer release and an easy 8/10 with no reservations.
