  • Overall, this is another nice showing by 15 Stars, who is really showing their ability to source and blend whiskey with the best of them.

  • Nose:

Pleasant nose. A big vanilla custard note with lots of brown sugar, bananas foster, peanut brittle, cinnamon, cherry, cake batter and a bit of oak.

  • Taste:

A big dose of sweet oak, plus cinnamon, cherry, strawberry candies, blackberry, honey, barrel char, toasted marshmallows over hot chocolate, fresh mint leaves and a touch of leather.

  • Finish:

A long finish leads with barrel char and tannin, then follows with marshmallow, cherry and char.

  • Overall:

This is such a classic oaky bourbon through and through — very oaky and very good. It’s a bit of an oak bomb (albeit not bitterly tannic) and not wildly complex, but if you like an oaky, well-proofed bourbon, this is great. 15 STARS is killing it.
