Captain Morgan announced on Thursday that the rum brand and singer, T-Pain, are renaming New Orleans’ celebrated Bourbon Street “Rum Street” for Super Bowl Weekend. The rum brand’s takeover is set to start on Feb. 6 and marks the latest activation as part of its fourth year as the Official Spiced Rum Sponsor of the NFL.

“Captain Morgan is taking Bourbon Street to another level, and as far as legends go, it takes one to know one,” T-Pain said in a news release. “Get ready New Orleans, Rum Street is going to bring the party like no other.”

Captain Morgan is giving $10 to lucky individuals frequenting the Big Easy to spend at Bourbon Street Bars as part of the takeover. The pinnacle of festivities will take place on Feb. 8, when T-Pain will perform live at Rum Street Headquarters at 8 P.M. CST.

The rum brand pointed out that the name change was a logical choice, considering that some of the most popular cocktails in The Big Easy, particularly the defining Hurricane and Daiquiri, are made with rum.

“Fans have been able to unlock epic adventures all season long when they Follow the Captain,” Captain Morgan Vice President Anne Nosko said. “We’re celebrating the biggest weekend in sports with our biggest adventure yet on one of America’s most iconic street. People come to Bourbon Street for memorable experiences with their crew and that’s what we’ll give them when they step onto Rum Street.”

Super Bowl fans looking to wear some festive garb for the event can pick up their very own crewneck shirt with a New Orleans-inspired design. The shirt is set to drop Feb. 7.

Captain Morgan made an exciting foray into the ready-to-drink space with the launch of a canned cocktail line in September. Each expression clocks in at 5% ABV and is a blend of no-sugar Pepsi Max coupled with Captain Morgan Spiced Gold Rum.

The initial drop launched in the United Kingdom, and each can have a suggested price of £2.59 ($3.50). The particular release was groundbreaking in the sense that it marked the first time Diageo joined forces with a major soft beverage brand.

“Both brands bring their distinctive flavor profile to the mix,” Diageo Managing Director GB Nuno Teles said. “Both brands bring their distinctive flavor profile to the mix,  creating the ultimate combination that’s been expertly blended to deliver a great taste experience.”
