‘Your Favorite Vacation-In-A-Glass’: Kenny Chesney Expands Blue Chair Bay Rum Lineup With New Lime Flavor

Multi-platinum country singer Kenny Chesney is expanding his flavored rum empire with a new citrus-tinged expression.
Ahead of his Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour, Chesney has unveiled Blue Chair Bay Lime Rum, a new spirit specifically designed to fit within mojitos, daiquiris and rum-based margaritas. Available in May, the release is said to taste like “the invigorating tang of lime just picked off a tropical tree.”
“We couldn’t start the tour without something special to celebrate,” Chesney said in a news release. “It’s going to be an incredible summer, and I thought we should make something for No Shoes Nation that will be as delicious with just a squeeze of lime and soda as it is serving as the something extra in any number of people’s signature cocktails!
“However, whatever way you like to enjoy your favorite vacation-in-a-glass, it’s gonna be a little fresher with Blue Chair Bay Lime Rum.”
Since launching in 2013, Blue Chair Bay has taken it upon itself to recreate just about every Caribbean-inspired flavor under the sun. The brand’s expansive catalog includes Coconut, Vanilla, Banana, Pineapple, Mango Cream, Mocha Cream flavors and more. The new Lime Rum expression is itself a variation on the brand’s long-running Key Lime Rum Cream.
The rum imprint derives its name from Chesney’s chart-topping 2005 album “Be as You Are (Songs from an Old Blue Chair).” Unlike the majority of celebrity-backed spirits, Chesney is reportedly the sole owner and chief creative officer.
“I spend a lot of my time off the road down in the Virgin Islands,” Chesney told Forbes in a 2013 interview. “If I was going to create a rum, which is my drink of choice … I wanted it to be authentic, to try to capture my life in the islands.”
