Houston Astros and Brugal Rum Are Bringing a Taste of the Dominican Republic to Minute Maid Park

Brugal Rum announced a partnership with Minute Maid Stadium, the home of the Houston Astros, on Wednesday. As part of the partnership, the rum brand is opening Brugal Bar — where guests can enjoy four distinctive cocktails featuring Brugal’s rum — on Minute Maid Park’s Club Level, the second floor of the stadium.

“We are thrilled to partner with Minute Maid Park,” Brugal 1888 Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana said in a statement. “Baseball is deeply ingrained in our Dominican culture and heritage, extending far beyond a game and blending into a way of life. Just as this sport brings communities together, our partnership with Minute Maid Park allows us to bring a taste of the Dominican Republic to Houston, sharing our passion for rum with fans and celebrating our shared values of quality, craftsmanship and community.”

The four cocktails are the Dominican Old Fashioned, Dominican Lemonade with passion fruit puree and lemonade, Caribbean Fizz that features lemon juice and club soda and the Space City Carajillo that incorporates cold brew and vanilla.

Brugal will also host tastings on game days throughout the season, so Astros fans can learn all about the brand’s history. Brugal will additionally be offering giveaways of branded merchandise.

Throughout September’s Hispanic Heritage Month, Brugal is introducing the La Casa Brugal Retreat to Houston, Texas. Brugal is re-imagining the home of its founder, Don Andrés Brugal in an immersive touring experience where guests can enjoy cocktails from the brand and take mixology classes.
