“True Grit” star Hailee Steinfeld is dropping a canned margarita in conjunction with Premium Beers Group. Angel Margarita is a ready-to-drink cocktail made exclusively from Agave tequila that is 6% ABV, gluten-free, and retails for $14.99 for a 4-pack and $28.99 for an 8-pack. Angel aims to be a marriage of Hailee’s “West Coast style” and the Mexican roots of her co-founders Jordi Zindel and Rodrigo Hernandez.

“Hailee is the perfect partner to help us share an authentic piece of our culture and redefine the ready-to-drink market through Angel Margarita with a more global audience,” Zindel and Hernandez said in a joint statement from Angel Margarita. “We invite consumers to taste our 100% Agave Tequila premium cocktails and to experience an authentic piece of Mexico in every sip.”

Steinfeld teamed up with co-founders Jordi Zindel and Rodrigo Hernandez to launch Angel Margarita, and the canned cocktail brand features four flavors: Lime, Grapefruit Paloma, Ranch Water and Wild Berry. Angel partnered with the CEO of Seven XV Ventures and Geloso Beverage Group to launch the product in North America. The brand is set to debut in Southern California.

Angel claims it is produced with high standards, and the tequila ready-to-drink cocktail brand is crafted with agaves sourced from Protected Denomination of Origin agaves from Jalisco. The brand blends the blanco agave tequila with sparkling water, natural flavors and agave syrup for sweetness.

Steinfeld appears to be following in the footsteps of other celebrities, like Travis Kelce, in venturing into the ready-to-drink agave space. The football star announced his equity stake investment in Casa Azul Tequila Soda back in February 2023. The brand expanded its portfolio with an organic tequila line in March that year.

Yet the reasons appear to be more than cash-based for the actor, and Steinfeld claims she’s actually quite the fan of agave-based cocktails.

“Margaritas have always been my go-to cocktail, so making a ready-to-drink version with high-quality ingredients that didn’t compromise on taste was important to me,” Steinfeld said in a news release. “After visiting the Blue Agave fields in Jalisco with my partners Jordi and Rodrigo, I was inspired by the region. I am so proud of what we have created together and cannot wait for the world to try Angel Margarita.”
