Casamigos Tequila is back in the headlines with a duo of pre-batched margaritas releasing in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

On Thursday, the George Clooney-founded brand enlisted the help of two celebrities to get the word out on its latest launch. Keegan-Michael Key of “Key and Peele” fame and Gabrielle Union of “Bring It On” were recruited for a campaign that playfully pits the comedians against one another on Team Classic and Team Spicy, respectively.

It’s the first time that Casamigos has released a batched cocktail in full-sized, 750-milliliter form. Bottled at 20.5% ABV, the Classic Lime and Spicy varieties are both made with blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and natural flavors. 375ml bottles in FIFA World Cup packaging are also being made available for a limited time. All of the above are now on sale through virtual retailers at a suggested price of $21.99.

“I grew up playing soccer, so I know firsthand how much passion the game brings out,” Union remarked in a news release. “I’m Team Spicy all the way — I love a little heat. But what makes the game special is how it brings people together, no matter which side you’re on.”

“I’ve been watching the FIFA World Cup for decades. As a super-fan, I’m always on the edge of my seat. I love the history of the sport, the skills of the players, and of course, the classic rivalries,” Key added. “I am proud to be part of Team Classic. A classic Casamigos margarita is the perfect game-time choice.”

Created by actor George Clooney and businessman Rande Gerber in 2013, Casamigos immediately became one of the most visible celebrity-backed spirits ventures on the market. The brand was eventually acquired by Diageo — the British firm behind Guinness and Johnnie Walker — in a record-shattering $1 billion deal in 2017.
