Coca-Cola Continues Foray Into Boozy Nostalgia With Minute Maid Spiked; Here’s Everything We Know

As the industry shifts towards nostalgia-soaked canned cocktails like SunnyD Vodka Seltzer and Arizona Hard Iced Tea, Coca-Cola is making the most of its massive soft drink catalog.
The latest unexpected innovation is Minute Maid Spiked. Long gone are the days of mixing your own DIY cocktail — in spring 2024, a trio of wine-based Minute Maid flavors (Lime Margarita, Piña Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri) will be hitting liquor store shelves in massive 1.5L bottles.
Coca-Cola says that single-serve options will soon follow, though prices for either have yet to be announced. All flavors will be sold at a bar-proof 13.9% ABV.
Minute Maid Spiked joins an ever-growing roster of Coca-Cola beverages blitzing the alcohol market. Over the past two years, the company has launched Topo Chico in Hard Seltzer and “Spirited” flavors, Simply Spiked Lemonade, Fresca Mixed and an official Jack & Coke canned cocktail.

Across the pond, Coca-Cola is currently finalizing plans to debut an Absolut Vodka & Sprite pre-mixed cocktail in early 2024.
So far as trends go, the ready-to-drink alcohol market is likely reaching a point of oversaturation. On the shelf, Minute Maid will go up against the likes of Jarritos Hard Soda, Monster Beast Unleashed and Hard MTN Dew among countless others. But Coca-Cola — a company with a 46.3% market share of the American soft drinks industry — has little to lose. If one product fizzles out, another can take its place.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance Live, Coca-Cola CFO John Murphy shared thoughts about the company’s approach.
“There is a lot of white space out there [in alcohol],” said Murphy. “We believe that we have a right to both compete and to play in that space, and we are exploring. We are exploring in a number of areas.”
