Sake and spirits producer Meiri Shurui Co. and Hololive’s esteemed VTuber, Shirogane Noel, have teamed up to introduce NOEL’S GIN TONIC on Friday. According to a press release, this ready-to-drink (RTD) concoction is made using a base of Noel’s Potion, a gin that clinched a bronze medal at the 2023 Tokyo Whiskey & Spirits Competition (TWSC) and spotlights marjoram as a key botanical.

Following the success of Noel’s Potion at the TWSC, Meiri Shurui sought to enhance its accessibility for a broader audience, per the press release. The solution was the creation of NOEL’S GIN TONIC, a canned iteration of the classic gin and tonic that incorporates Kabosu fruit juice from Oita Prefecture.

Noel, a Japanese Virtual YouTuber, is affiliated with tech entert ainment company Cover Corporation’s Hololive and debuted as part of the agency’s third generation of VTubers, adopting the name “Hololive Fantasy.” A Virtual YouTuber, or VTuber, is an online content creator who uses a virtual avatar or character, often animated or computer-generated, to produce videos and interact with the audience on platforms like YouTube. The virtual avatar is controlled by the VTuber using motion-capture technology or animation, allowing for a unique and engaging online persona.

Noel, expressing her sentiments about Noel’s Potion, hails it as “a potion that gives the members of the Silver Holy Knights energy for tomorrow.”

Just like the new RTD G&T, Noel’s Potion was crafted collaboratively alongside the popular VTuber. According to her fandom Wikipedia page, the character of Noel is described as a “fluffy, meatheaded knight” who, while being easygoing, has the “dangerous habit of attempting to muscle her way through her problems.” Meiri Shurui asserts that the gin was made “reflecting the opinions of ‘Shirogane Noel’ from development to completion.”

The 8-bottle set of NOEL’S GIN TONIC is priced at ¥5,500 ($37.42), with orders commencing March 13 and shipments slated for June. Secure your order at the Meiri Sake Online Shop.
