WhistlePig announced on Wednesday that the whiskey brand was dropping a nonalcoholic Old Fashioned for Dry January as part of a collaboration with the legendary rocker Alice Cooper.
“I’ve been shocking audiences for years with snakes, guillotines and enough fake blood to fill the Grand Canyon,” Cooper said in a news release. “But now these maniacs at WhistlePig have gone and SHOCKED ME with a non-alcoholic cocktail.”
The limited-edition release is called “Sex, Drugs, Rock & Dry Old Fashioned,” and 100% of its profits will go to the bartending community.
This booze-free tipple was made with 100% rye “non-whiskey,” barrel-aged maple syrup, Schisandra berry, damiana — an aphrodisiac — and Cordyceps. The brand shared that the cocktail “melts in your mind, not your glass.”
WhistlePig’s Sex, Drugs, Rock & Dry Old Fashioned is on sale with a suggested retail price of $49.99 per 750-milliliter bottle. The brand will also be releasing a bundle that features a rye-liquid-infused vinyl of Cooper’s album “Breadcrumbs.” The bundle costs $199.99. The Vermont whiskey brand shares that the bundle will ship out in two batches, and the liquid vinyl will ship in Spring 2025.
The brand shared that some lucky winners will get to play golf with Cooper and attend a listening party.
“Last year’s Dank January release showed us that fans are here to hang loose, whatever they’re sipping this month,” WhistlePig Head Blender Meghan Ireland said in a statement. “No Dry January drinker should miss out on a high-quality Old Fashioned made with real, aged Rye ‘Non-Whiskey,’ nor the freedom to be obscene (even if they’re clean.)”
WhistlePig shared that the profits will be donated to Giving Kitchen, an organization that offers financial aid and community resources to those working in the service industry.
In December 2023, WhistlePig announced its release of the Dank & Dry Old Fashioned Cocktail. The brand explained that “Dank January is the new Dry January.” WhistlePig’s non-alcoholic cocktail was infused with non-psychoactive cannabis terpenes, which added a distinctive aroma and mouthfeel, according to the Vermont whiskey brand.
