10 Women Revolutionizing the Non-Alcoholic Drinks Industry

Drinking habits have undergone a seismic shift over the past decade. The nonalcoholic beverage space, once an afterthought, is suddenly full of energy and intention, inspiring the launch of myriad zero-proof wines, spirits, beers and functional drinks that have redefined why and how consumers connect with what’s inside their glass. No longer is the movement restricted to Dry January or Sober October; the NA drinks market of 2026 is a multi-billion-dollar industry, and it’s here to stay year-round.

Though the NA drinks boom is often characterized as a story of shifting consumer habits, it’s also a testament to the work of thought leaders raising awareness and accessibility. Whether they be founders, CEOs, distillers, creators or something in between, here are 10 women revolutionizing the zero-proof beverage market.

Rachel Martin is the founder, winemaker and CEO of Oceano Wines, a specialist in single-vintage fare sourced from the Spanish Springs Vineyard along the San Luis Obispo Coast of California. Martin’s biggest contribution to the industry at large came in 2025, when she authored the world’s first professional training and certification program dedicated solely to alcohol-free beverages. The program, stylized AFicioNAdo, offers NA beer, wine and cannabis beverage certification courses — a much-needed push toward credibility as the industry finds its footing on the world stage.

Scout Brisson — CEO, De Soi

Following a management and consulting stint at McKinsey and the founding of an adaptogenic snack venture, Scout Brisson was brought on as the CEO of De Soi, a functional beverage upstart backed by pop star Katy Perry. Within the span of four years, Brisson has flipped the brand into one of the industry’s biggest movers and shakers. A recent addition to the Forbes 30 under 30 list, Brisson has steered De Soi through over $13 million in funding while scoring major deals at the likes of Target, Total Wine and Publix. Its products riff on popular cocktails like the Aperol Spritz and Margarita, remixed with signature additions of lion’s mane, L-theanine and reishi mushroom in every can.

Laura Silverman is the creator of Zero Proof Nation, one of the most comprehensive resources on NA bottle shops and venues worldwide. Peruse its interactive global map to discover a zero-proof cocktail bar in Bengaluru that specialises in botanical infusions, Mexico City’s first nonalcoholic bottle shop or a tasting room and workshop space in Berlin. For those who don’t have time to travel the seven continents, the website also recommends a curated selection of NA blogs, magazines, newsletters, apps and podcasts. Silverman has created the definitive resource for all things zero-proof, and her platform is a must-try for anyone getting acquainted with the category.

In 2021, Emily Heintz founded one of the first dedicated alcohol-free beverage shops in the country. Located in Charleston, South Carolina, Sèchey imagines itself as half bottle shop, half lifestyle platform, hosting near-daily tasting events in addition to selling NA wines, cocktails, spirits, functional drinks and supplements. Heintz’s work has garnered shoutouts everywhere from Vogue to CNN, and those looking for an inside scoop can follow along on her blog, The Drying Times.

Tatiana Mercer & Meeta Gournay — Co-founders, Three Spirit

Non-Alcoholic

Tatiana Mercer and Meeta Gournay are two of the co-founders behind Three Spirit, a line of functional, plant-based nonalc spirits sold under descriptively moody taglines. The brand’s Social homes in on “floaty and flirty” combo of lion’s mane mushroom, cacao, yerba mate and damiana, while its Nightcap dials the recipe down in favor of lemon balm and valerian. Of all the zero-proof brands that have embraced the vibey, feel-this-not-that energy of the category, Three Spirit is among the best that delivers exactly what’s described on the label.

Rebecca Styn — Founder, Blind Tiger

Non-Alcoholic

Rebecca Styn’s Blind Tiger is the only nonalc canned cocktail brand we know of that pays homage to the Prohibition era — and it does so for good reason. Before finding her way into the ready-to-drink market, Styn founded Room 33 Speakeasy, a mixology hideaway in Erie, Pennsylvania, hidden behind a sliding bookshelf. When COVID hit in 2020, her establishment was forced to pivot toward take-away, zero-proof drinks, a blessing in disguise that created Blind Tiger as we know it today. The brand sells 1930’s throwbacks like the Bee’s Knees, Southside and Sidecar, all of which are rarely, if ever, reimagined in zero-proof form.

Laura Taylor — Founder, Mingle Mocktails

Non-Alcoholic

Laura Taylor was one of the earliest pioneers of the nonalcoholic category when she launched Mingle Mocktails in 2017. The brand worked closely with the Whole Foods Market spirits team to brainstorm ideas, and later added Bethenny Frankel of “Real Housewives” and Skinnygirl fame as a strategic partner and investor. Today, the brand offers drinks in both canned and bottled varieties, zeroing in on its low-calorie, full indulgence ethos with flavors like Cranberry Cosmo and Berry Lemon Bliss.

Mélanie Masarin — Founder & CEO, Ghia

Ghia‘s flagship aperitif, a reimagining of bitter Italian amari made with Riesling white grape juice, gentian root and yuzu, is one of the most recognizable products in the NA category. Mélanie Masarin founded the brand in 2020 following two years of R&D, setting out to create an homage to Mediterranean memories and communal dining. “We weren’t trying to replicate alcohol or make a juice alternative. We wanted to create a ritual — something sophisticated and intentional,” Masarin said in a recent interview with The Daily Pour. “Taste matters, of course. But what people really wanted was a feeling. A context. A drink that made them feel included in a social setting without compromise.”

Jen Batchelor — Co-founder & CEO, Kin Euphorics

Non-Alcoholic

Jen Batchelor was partly inspired to launch Kin Euphorics by her father, who moonlighted as a gin, beer and winemaker in her youth. Decades later, the entrepreneur spearheaded the launch of a brand that replaced booze with a heady mix of adaptogens, nootropics and botanicals. Drawing influences from Ayurvedic medicine, Kin Euphorics is another drinkmaker that takes a mood-forward approach, providing a natural boost (or a soothing calm) based on your flavor of choice. The concept quickly gained momentum, so much so that model Bella Hadid joined as a co-founder and partner in 2021.

Moa Gürbüzer — Founder, Oddbird

(Photo: Oddbird)

Moa Gürbüzer boasts rare credentials. A social worker and family therapist who spent decades working with individuals impacted by alcohol-related harm, Gürbüzer was inspired to create a dealcoholized wine at a time when “zero-proof” was barely in the vernacular. Her brand, Oddbird, officially debuted in 2013. The Swedish company works in collaboration with vineyards across France, Italy and Spain, fermenting and aging its products much like a traditional winemaker before using a patented dealcoholization process.
