Pop sensation Taylor Swift recently enjoyed a girls’ night out in Leawood, Kansas. According to a Page Six report, the group, which included the wives and girlfriends of Chiefs players, opted for an evening at Rye, a spot frequented by their other halves, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.

Ahead of Swift’s first visit, the restaurant’s owner, Megan Garrelts, received a heads-up about a notable visitor, although they were pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be the 12-time Grammy winner, Page Six was informed.

Notably, Swift paired her pasta meal with a French Blonde, a cocktail Garrelts noted is rumored to be Swift’s favorite.

“From our understanding, [that is] her favorite cocktail,” Rye’s owner shared with the news outlet. “All the girls had cocktails, so it was definitely a lively girls night, which was fun to see.”

Previously understood to be a Diet Coke and vodka, Swift’s favorite cocktail appears to have experienced a classy upgrade. The French Blonde typically features gin as the base spirit, complemented by elderflower liqueur, Lillet Blanc (a French apéritif wine), grapefruit juice and lemon bitters. The result is a refreshing and slightly floral concoction with a citrusy zing. Served ice cold in an elegant glass, the French Blonde is a delightful choice for those seeking a refined and well-balanced cocktail experience.

So, let’s make one!

French Blond Recipe (Taylor Swift’s Favorite Cocktail)

  • 1 oz Dry gin (recommendations below)
  • 1 oz St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 oz Lillet Blanc
  • 2 oz Grapefruit juice
  • Dash of Lemon bitters
  • Garnish: Grapefruit slice or twist

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add dry gin, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Lillet Blanc, grapefruit juice and a dash of bitters to the shaker. Shake the mixture well for about 15 seconds to thoroughly chill the ingredients. Strain the cocktail into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a grapefruit slice and enjoy.

Leaning in on citrus and floral flavors, we think this cocktail would be best when made with Citadelle Jardin d’Été, Chemist South Slope, or Yu Gin.

Feel free to adjust the proportions of this drink to suit your taste preferences. Cheers!
