For the Dad Who’s Laying Off the Drinking ($42)

No More Cafe Island Echo

Father's Day drink gifts

If your father is sober, taking a break from drinking or zebra striping, he doesn’t have to stick to water. No More Cafe is an innovative bar in New York City that’s entirely alcohol-free. Founder Rodrigo Nogeuira uses an eclectic bouquet of spices and other ingredients ingredients to craft zero-proof cocktails that have so much complexity you won’t wish they contain a drop of booze.

We’re usually skeptical of non-alc cocktails, but these are right up there with anything we’ve tasted in the zero-proof space. Our favorite of the bunch, Island Echo, is made with agave, black pepper, cacao nibs, cinnamon, ginger, h2o, lime, nutmeg, orange, sugar, vanilla, vegetable glycerin and verjus. A bottle is priced at $42. Spice-laden and delicious, this mocktail tastes like Christmas. Click here to learn more about it and read our full review.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch B525

Father's Day drink gifts

There are many different types of whiskey drinkers. Some like a tame sip in the 40%-45% ABV range. Others like their drams a little stronger, in the 50%-55% territory. And then you have your proof hounds, and boy are there a lot of them. If your dad falls in that category (nothing wrong with that!) he’s probably familiar with Heaven Hill’s Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, which is one of the favorite regularly released bourbons  among whiskey enthusiasts, and for good reason. Even if he’s tasted ECBP before, he’ll be sure to want a new bottle; after all, each batch is significantly different from its predecessor.

The latest batch, B525 (“B” signifies it’s the second release of the year, while “5” and “25” indicate it was released in May 2025) is one of the best batches in recent memory. Its soft and sweet profile combined with a bruising proof of 126.2 make for a delightful bourbon — one of the best released all year.

For the Dad With a Taste for Sake ($85)

Brooklyn Kura x Hakkaisan Junmai Daiginjo Set

This set comprises two bottles of rice wine: one from Japan and the other from New York’s first sake brewery, Brooklyn Kura:

  • Hakkaisan “Junmai Daiginjo” is a 720-milliliter bottle of delicate, crisp sake from Hakkaisan, a renowned sake brewery in Japan’s Niigata Prefecture.
  • Brooklyn Kura “Catskills” is a 750-milliliter bottle of fruity junmai daiginjo sake. For the uninitiated, junmai daiginjo is a premium category of sake in which the rice has been polished to a higher degree than that in standard sakes. This delicate, fruit-forward sake is a refined sipper that any dad with a taste for Japanese flair is sure to enjoy.

Sitting down and tasting Japanese and American sake side by side is a treat your father will have a blast with. Plus, with Japan’s rice shortage, stocking up on sake probably makes some sense.
