‘Gin That Stands Deliciously on Its Own’: Unique Collaboration Unveils The Old G, a Minority-Owned Spirit Brand

Last week, visionary artist Hebru Brantley and spirits veteran Peter Ibrahim debuted The Old G, a minority-owned London dry gin brand spotlighting traditional production methods and zero artificial flavors or colors.

“We’re thrilled to announce the launch of The Old G,” said Ibrahim, head of brand and founder of The Old G, in a news release. “It was our goal to create a Gin that stands deliciously on its own, without the need for any modifiers or mixers to enhance its exceptional taste – and that’s exactly what we did here.”

“We also wanted to create a product that gives a voice to underrepresented communities. As an Egyptian teaming up with a prominent Black artist, it was crucial to build a brand that reflects our upbringing, struggles, and our perseverance in this industry.”

According to the brand, the limited-edition gin guarantees an unparalleled drinking experience with its remarkable smoothness and exceptional quality. Therefore, it is recommended to drink The Old G in simple serves, such as neat, with ice or just one mixer. When enjoyed, look out for tasting notes from the gin’s key botanicals: juniper berries, orange peel, lemon peel, licorice root, orris root, coriander and cardamom.

The gin’s name sources inspiration from the “Old G’s,” individuals considered to be pillars of neighborhoods and communities. Furthermore, the sleek bottle design, conceived by Brantley, aims to catch the eye whether displayed at home, or in a bar or restaurant.

“The design of the bottle comes from the minimalistic idea of stripping the unnecessary and intentionally focusing on simplicity,” commented Brantley, head of creative. “The minimalism is also a way of having the product stand on its own – where the bottle, logo and overall design does not take away from the spirit itself.”

The Old G is now available for purchase in select states, including Florida, Georgia, California, Illinois, New York and New Jersey, with availability expanding to more states soon. Each 750ml bottle is priced at $34.99 — and a map of available locations to purchase The Old G can be found here.
