Last week, California-based distillery Shelter Distilling unveiled a new product to its specialty spirit range — Eastside Liqueur, a gin-based liqueur that has been aged for four years in barrels that previously held Shelter Rum and Shelter Agave.

“We’re thrilled to announce the release of Eastside Liqueur, a one-of-a-kind gin-based liqueur that took four years to age to perfection,” Shelter Distilling shared.

“This unique spirit is the result of combining Shelter’s passion for creativity, experimentation, and quality ingredients with the water and indigenous botanicals of the Eastern Sierra.”

A limited-edition release, this juniper-rich tipple is infused with coriander, sage, pennyroyal, heather flowers, lemon peel, rose hips and elderberries sourced from the Eastern Sierra. According to the distillery, its latest creation is “a spirit unlike any other in the world.”

Shelter Distilling also added that the 33%-ABV liqueur offers tasting notes of sweet lemon, mint, vanilla and honey, alongside sage and citrus aromas with subtle hints of oak and spring florals.

Eastside Liqueur is now available for purchase through Shelter Distilling, priced at $44.99 per 750ml bottle.

To mark the special gin liqueur launch, Shelter Distilling added a new cocktail, the “Eastbound and Down,” to its menu.
