Gin Bothy, a distillery based in Angus, Scotland, has secured a coveted spot in the illustrious $125,000 Oscars gift bags, Scottish Field reported Tuesday. The exclusive presentation, dubbed the epitome of celebrity “swag bags,” will be personally delivered to the top 25 Oscar nominees in February.
Distinctive Assets, the creators behind this opulent offering, have previously bestowed it upon nominees in top categories such as Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor, counting stars like Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis and Steven Spielberg among its recipients. This year, Cillian Murphy, Margot Robbie, Bradley Cooper, and Emma Stone stand as likely nominees.

Crafted by Gin Bothy’s founder, Kim Cameron, the gin is distilled using Scottish elements like heather, pine and rosemary. Cameron, who stumbled into the world of gin-making while experimenting with jam in her kitchen in 2015, expressed her delight at the prospect of showcasing her award-winning product on the global stage.
“This is incredible news for us,” Cameron informed Scottish Field. “It’s giving us a chance to showcase Scottish spirits with our award-winning gin.”
“We are taking a little piece of Scotland to Los Angeles with an exclusive small batch distillation of our gin for the Oscar nominees. It will be a high end gin made with Scottish heather, Scots pine and rosemary, essentially a real taste of Scotland in a bottle.”
The bespoke batch of Gin Bothy, numbered from 1 to 25, will offer Hollywood stars a genuine taste of Scottish gin. The opportunity to feature in the Oscars’ prestigious gift bags came about serendipitously during a conversation with the proprietor of Turin Castle, according to Scottish Field. The castle owner, Yvonne Corbett, recommended Gin Bothy following a taste test, lauding its credibility and provenance over other contenders.
Cameron, proud of the recognition, sees this as not only an honor but also a platform to promote Scotland’s food and drink industry, encouraging others in the sector to aim for similar global acclaim.
