November was a good month for new gin releases, with craft distilleries and major brands alike debuting a healthy handful of juniper-based spirits. In the latest installment of our monthly roundup, we’re here to keep you updated on all the gins released last month that we think you should know about.
Presented in chronological order, here are the top 12 gins released in November 2023.
12. Barr Hill Turns to Sherry Casks In Latest Tom Cat Gin Release

Kicking off November, Barr Hill introduced the Sherry Barrel Tom Cat Gin to its Distillery Selection series.
Aged in new American oak barrels for a year, followed by over a year in Oloroso Sherry casks, the limited-edition release boasts flavors of baking spices, toasted walnuts, caramel, dried fruit and a dry finish. Each batch is individually proofed and enhanced with Barr Hill’s signature raw honey from its own busy bee hives.
Priced at $99.99, the Sherry Barrel Tom Cat Gin is available exclusively at the Vermont-based distillery.

11. ‘A Celebration of Our Love Affair With Honey’: Australian Distillery Spotlights the Work of Bees in Latest Gin Release

Representing another interesting honey-forward November release, Australian distillery Archie Rose Distilling Co. introduced Raw Honey Gin Harvest 2022 at the start of the month as a limited edition to its Harvest Series. The gin features raw honey sourced from on-site bee hives at the Sydney distillery.
Collaborating with The Urban Beehive, the gin seeks to capture the essence of Sydney’s biodiversity. Tasting notes include juniper, coriander seed, chamomile and freshly poured honey.
Limited to 7,900 bottles at $89 each, Raw Honey Gin Harvest 2022 is available at the distillery, online and in select retail stores.

10. Aldi Gears Up for the Holidays With Expansive Christmas-Inspired Gin Range

Near the beginning of the month, Aldi U.K. relaunched its festive gin range, featuring favorites like Gold Flake Gin Liqueur — and introducing new additions.
The new expressions include Haysmith’s Cranberry and Clementine Gin and the revamped Infusionist Gold Flake Gin Liqueurs. Notable returning selections are Haysmith’s Blood Orange Gin and Haysmith’s Sloe Gin.
Prices range from $19 to $22, available at Aldi stores across the U.K.

9. Loch Lomond Distillery Kicks Off ‘Explorer Series’ With Gin That Raises Funds for Wild Space Conservation

Ben Lomond Gin launched The Schiehallion as part of its Explorer Series in early November, collaborating with the John Muir Trust for U.K. wild space conservation.
Crafted with botanicals sourced responsibly from protected areas, including wild thyme, birch leaves and blueberries, The Schiehallion pays homage to Ben Lomond and Loch Lomond’s beauty.
Priced at £50.00 ($61), a bottle can be purchased through the distillery’s online shop. The Schiehallion supports the Trust’s Wild Woods Appeal, contributing to native woodland expansion and restoration.

8. Cunard Cruise Line Celebrates Launch of New Ship With British-Themed Gin

Cunard Cruise Line has marked the launch of its new ship, The Queen Anne, with the introduction of a bespoke gin featuring botanicals sourced from various British Isles regions.
Developed in collaboration with TV personality and bartender Merlin Griffiths, The Queen Anne Edition Gin includes woody milk thistle, heather, sea buckthorn, Queen Anne rose petals and blackcurrant leaf.
The gin is priced at £41 (about $50) and is poised for a wider release through the Summerhall Distillery website and onboard The Queen Anne on May 3, 2024.

7. Distillery Behind World’s 1st Insect-Based Gin Releases Spirit Inspired by Charles Darwin’s Historic Voyage

Cambridge Distillery paid homage to Charles Darwin’s HMS Beagle voyage with Americas Herbarium, a gin crafted in collaboration with Cambridge University Botanic Garden.
Honoring Darwin’s botanical discoveries in South America, the gin includes juniper, cinnamon leaf, barberry, wild strawberry and Baccharis magellanica. These botanicals connect to samples housed in Cambridge University’s herbarium, gathered by Darwin during his travels.
Americas Herbarium is available on the Cambridge Distillery’s website and The Royal Exchange’s pop-up gin laboratory in London, priced at £195 (about $238) per bottle.

6. Gordon’s Unveils Sugar Plum Gin Liqueur Just in Time for Holiday Imbibing

In the middle of November, Gordon’s unveiled a sweet addition to its lineup just in time for the holidays.
The limited-edition Sugar Plum Gin Liqueur sees the iconic London dry brand’s flagship gin infused with sweet plums. According to Good Housekeeping, the resulting concoction bears a rich purple hue and a holiday-inspired “jammy and lightly spiced” flavor.
Available only for a short time, this 20%-ABV offering is accessible at Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons and ASDA, priced at £15 per 70-cl bottle.

5. North Carolina Distillery Raises Funds for Conservation Efforts With Collaborative Gin Release

Old Edwards Inn collaborated with Chemist Spirits and Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust (HCLT) to create the “Old Edwards Discovery Gin” in the heart of North Carolina’s Highlands.
Dedicated to preserving the region’s natural heritage, the gin features native wild juniper hand-harvested from HCLT-protected land. With botanicals like sweet birch bark, hemlock, Pitch Pine, Multiflora Rose and local sourwood honey, the gin captures the essence of the area.
Priced at $42 per bottle, a portion of the proceeds goes to HCLT.

4. ‘These are Botanicals With Purpose’: Craft Spirits Producer Debuts Gin Rooted in Ethnobotany

Botanery Barn Distilling, based in Pennsylvania, launched Revivalist Garden Gin, a creation by acclaimed gin expert Brendan Bartley, known for his role at Bathtub Gin in NYC and LA.
Departing from conventional approaches, this super-premium spirit prioritizes a holistic and sustainable ethos. Bartley’s vision focuses on all-natural, sustainably produced gin, selecting botanicals for their ethnobotanical roots. The gin incorporates ashwagandha, lemon verbena leaf, rose hips, plum and hemp seed.
Priced at $39.99, Revivalist Garden Gin is currently available in Pennsylvania and online, with a wider release planned for 2024.

3. Never Never Distilling Repurposes Discarded Oyster Shells in Sea-Inspired Gin

Never Never Distilling Co. introduced Oyster Shell Gin, a collaboration with Melbourne’s Society Restaurant, featuring discarded Kangaroo Island oyster shells in its distillation process. Aligned with the ecoSPIRITS system, reducing single glass use and packaging waste, Oyster Shell Gin is available in the ecoTOTE 4.5L format.
The gin’s botanical mix includes waxflower, Tasmania wakame, coastal daisy bush, saltbush and round mint. With tasting notes of fresh sea spray, lime leaf and grapefruit zest, the gin is designed for dry martinis and spirit-forward cocktails.

2. 6 O’clock Gin Kicks Off The Distillers Archive Series With Spiced Orange and Cranberry Expression

Near the end of the month, 6 O’clock Gin unveiled The Distillers Archive Series, beginning with Spiced Orange and Cranberry Gin. This artisanal collection promises a year-long journey featuring small-batch gins with seasonal botanicals. The inaugural release combines zesty citrus, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
According to Marketing Director Tom Fowkes, the series invites enthusiasts to explore gin-making history while showcasing flavor innovations and traditional craftsmanship.
Priced at £37.00 ($46), Spiced Orange and Cranberry Gin is available at select retailers and on the brand’s website.

1. Craft Distillery Releases ‘World’s First’ Gin to be Made With 100% Australian-Grown Juniper

As November wrapped up, Kangaroo Island Spirits introduced the First Harvest Juniper Gin, touted as the world’s first gin made with 100% Australian-grown juniper berries.
Limited to 1,500 bottles, the gin uses botanicals cultivated in the distillery’s garden, including Kangaroo Island-grown juniper berries from trees planted in 2006. The mature juniper offers bold freshness, balanced by native thyme, cardamom leaf and lemongrass for an herbaceous complexity.
Priced at $99.99 per 700-ml bottle, the gin is available online.
