Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, well-known for her operatic aria and musical theatre performances, has debuted her very own gin line, Cygnet 22.

“Inspired by the sisterhood of gin drinkers and with them in mind every step of the way, our female-founded, female-led company is wholly committed to sustainability,” Jenkins wrote on social media. “Having been a supporter of the conservation world for many years, my gin comes with a forever promise to walk the walk and this is reflected in our brand ethos.”

Cygnet 22 is made in collaboration with sixth-generation distillers and brewers, Aster and Chris Sadler, and includes 22 botanicals. According to the brand, these botanicals are manuka honey, juniper, coriander, cardamom, angelica root, orris root, chamomile flower, pink grapefruit, lemon peel, lime peel, orange peel, licorice, almond, calendula, cassia bark, white peppercorns, bee pollen, lemon balm, sea salt, rose petals, hibiscus and heather.

Manuka honey, one of the more unusual botanicals featured in the gin, was selected by Jenkins due to her fondness for the soothing ingredient, which she uses to take care of her voice. And, according to the singer, manuka honey imparts a “soft, yet complex sweetness” on Cygnet 22.

Signature serves for the Welsh dry gin include sipping it chilled with a sprig of rosemary (Jenkins’ favorite way to enjoy it) or pairing it with your favorite tonic water for a classic G&T.

More than just a tasty tipple, Cygnet 22 and its uniquely shaped bottle are designed with sustainability and reusability in mind.

“The graceful and elegant bottle is not only beautiful but also lighter in weight, which helps its carbon footprint,” Jenkins added. “The water drop design of the glass, inspired by clear Welsh water, makes a beautiful vase you can use long after the last drop.”

Jenkins’ gin is set to be available for purchase starting May 1 and preorders can be placed here.
