Hendrick’s Gin Revives Floral Fan Favorite for the Holiday Season

On Tuesday, William Grant & Sons-owned Scottish spirits producer Hendrick’s Gin announced the rerelease of Midsummer Solstice, a 43.4%-ABV offering inspired by the aromatic flowers that bloom during the longest day of the year.

Initially released in 2019 as the first creation from Gracie’s “Cabinet of Curiosities,” Midsummer Solstice quickly rose to success, securing a spot as the fifth “super-premium” gin in the world that year, per the brand. After being retired in 2021, the expression was shelved indefinitely. However, in response to ongoing demand from gin enthusiasts, Hendrick’s is bringing it back for a limited release this holiday season.

“I was humbled by how well Hendrick’s MIDSUMMER SOLSTICE was received and how many fans have asked for its return,” commented Lesley Gracie, master distiller for Hendrick’s Gin. “While many know it as MIDSUMMER SOLSTICE, it still holds a special place in my heart as the gin I originally made for my dear friend Duncan who got married on Midsummer’s Day. As a gift, I created several bottles of this special gin, hand-selecting each floral essence to capture the sensory powers of the solstice when flowers are in full bloom.”

The summer solstice, which takes place in June in the Northern Hemisphere, signals the arrival of midsummer and is celebrated as the longest day and shortest night of the year. Daylight reaches its peak, while the hours of darkness are at their lowest. According to Hendrick’s, this time is also when flowers are in full bloom, offering their most abundant and vibrant aromas.

“If you’re looking for a special holiday gift for the gin lover in your life, look no further than Hendrick’s MIDSUMMER SOLSTICE, which was created for one of life’s greatest celebrations,” added Vance Henderson, Hendrick’s national ambassador. “In fact, for sumptuous soirees, the MIDSUMMER Spritz will delight even the most curious cocktail connoisseurs.”

Priced at around $36.99, Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice is available exclusively in the U.S. starting Tuesday — while supplies last.
