On Feb. 23, Head Distiller and Co-Founder of Australian gin producer Four Pillars, Cameron Mackenzie, became the 20th person in history to be inducted into London’s Gin Hall of Fame.

Othe notable inductees include Tessa Gerlach, co-founder of Elephant Gin; Alexandre Gabriel, master blender for Citadelle Gin; Dr. Anne Brock, Bombay Sapphire‘s master distiller; and Chairman and Owner of Nolet Distillery, Carolus Nolet Sr.

As reported by The Shout, the esteemed induction is only part of a series of awards earned at the World Gin Awards hosted by Gin Magazine, where Four Pillars, accounting for 40% of Australia’s gin production, established itself as the country’s highest-selling local gin brand.

“Well this is quite something, isn’t it,” Mackenzie said while in London, per The Shout. “I gave up my Taylor Swift tickets to make the journey to these awards so thank goodness it was worth the trip.”

“In all seriousness, this is a marvelous tribute to the work of everyone who has been involved in Four Pillars across the 10 years we have been making gin. And it just goes to show that Aussie gin is now recognised clearly as amongst the best in the world.”

The journey to this acknowledgment began with Mackenzie’s distinction as the Master Distiller of the Year, a highlight of the 2023 awards season. Additionally, the IWSC crowned Four Pillars as the Gin Producer of the Year for an unprecedented third time.

Meanwhile, the Four Pillars distilling and production team earned the title of Production Team of the Year. Operations Director Michelle Hall’s recognition as Sustainability Officer of the Year, instrumental in achieving Four Pillars’ carbon-neutral certification, along with Venue Manager Scott Gauld’s acknowledgment as Visitor Attraction Manager of the Year at the Healesville distillery, further emphasizes the team’s mastery.

In mid-February, Four Pillars made key appointments to its international leadership team in a strategic move to bolster its international presence. Under the guidance of David Hogan, Four Pillars GTR & International Director, the newly established leaders are set to play pivotal roles in expanding the brand’s global footprint.
