Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Rings in the Lunar New Year With ‘Dragon Edition’ Bottling

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin’s Dragon Edition bottling will be available only in 2024.

In commemoration of the Lunar New Year, Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin has introduced its Dragon Edition bottling. Available exclusively throughout 2024, the limited-edition offering is adorned with gold foil and stylish Chinese dragon illustrations.

Priced at about $54, Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin – Dragon Edition is now available for preorder through the distillery’s website.

Hailing from Ireland’s The Shed Distillery, Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin has rapidly ascended to global acclaim since its 2016 debut. Present in over 80 countries, the spirit boasts a botanical blend including juniper from Macedonia, meadowsweet sourced from Drumshanbo, cardamom originating in India, coriander seed cultivated in Romania, orris root from Morocco and star anise imported from China. Distilled in medieval copper pot stills, a final infusion process includes gunpowder tea and vapor infusions of three distinct citruses.

Building on its achievements in 2023, the distillery has also strategically expanded its footprint, securing prime listings on major carriers Aer Lingus and Ryanair for the year ahead, according to The Moody Davitt Report. Additionally, a fresh partnership with Emerald Airlines further bolsters the global availability of this premium spirit.

Going all in on citrus, the brand released its California Orange expression in March last year.

In 2022, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson extended congratulations to The Shed Distillery for clinching the Spirit Brand of the Year award at the Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Star Awards. The Shed Distillery’s victory was notable as it competed against esteemed spirit producers such as Brown-Forman (Jack Daniels) and Louis Vuitton (Moët Hennessy), with Johnson’s own Teremana Tequila brand also in the running for the prestigious accolade.
