On Thursday, Indian spirits producer Bapuna Alcobrew announced the launch of a Chambal Gin, a dry gin aspiring to transport the imbiber to “an unparalleled realm of flavor and beauty.”
Inspired by the north-central Indian region of Chambal, characterized by its wild river, labyrinthine ravines and diverse flora and fauna, Chambal Gin offers a blend of hand-picked ingredients. Juniper berries, wild cinnamon bark, black and green cardamom, dried lemon peel and almonds take center stage in this spirit’s curated botanical mix.
In its initial stage, Chambal Gin makes its debut in Delhi, with plans set for later launches in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.
According to the brand, the gin’s amber-colored glass bottle mirrors the rustic Chambal landscape, adorned with a torn label displaying motifs of crossed rifles — a tribute to the region’s historic dacoits. The label also spotlights the region’s nature with motifs of gharials (a native crocodile species) and waves, intertwined with traditional design elements like local Mandana art.
“At Bapuna Alcobrew, our mission is to redefine the boundaries of crafted excellence,” shared Pervez Bapuna, COO of Bapuna Alcobrew, in a press release. “Our journey, spanning generations, has converged into Chambal Gin—a harmonious blend of flavors that captivate the senses. It’s a tribute to the adventurous spirits who appreciate the finer things in life.”
Chambal Gin is now available for purchase in Delhi, priced at INR 1950 ($23.43) per bottle.
