English spirit producer Brockmans Gin has attained B Corp status. As reported by The Spirits Business on Wednesday, the brand, having been certified as carbon neutral since 2020, sees this accreditation as a “natural step” in its ongoing pursuit of sustainability.

“It’s not just about making fantastic gin; it’s about doing it in a way that’s good for both the planet and people,” Brockmans Founder Neil Everitt shared.

“The B Corp values also form the bedrock of Brockmans’ ‘Properly Improper’ philosophy, influencing every aspect of our brand and our belief in doing things properly; acting with integrity, authenticity and excellence.”

“We recognise our duty to shape a brighter future, not only for the next generation but also for our team, suppliers, customers, shareholders, and the wider community as well.”

According to the report, Brockmans achieved an overall B Corp score of 80, surpassing the current median score of 50.9 points for businesses that undergo the assessment.

B Corp Certification entails a rigorous assessment of a company’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility, transparency and accountability. The evaluation encompasses factors like fair labor practices, environmental sustainability and community engagement. The certification signifies a company’s dedication to responsible business practices, emphasizing a positive impact beyond profit.

Brockmans’ gin portfolio includes its flagship berry-forward gin; the Orange Kiss variant, which incorporates triple sec and Valencia oranges; and the Agave Cut, a pink grapefruit-infused expression cut with agave spirit. Upon its release in May 2023, Orange Kiss became the first new product the brand launched since it was founded in 2006. Agave Cut was then introduced five months later.
