The Botanist Islay Dry Gin announced on May 15 that the brand is expanding its presence within the world of pickleball — America’s fastest-growing sport — by partnering with The Association of Pickleball Players. The gin brand signed a multi-year agreement that makes The Botanist the first spirits partner of the APP.

This recent development follows the news of The Botanist’s partnership with Major League Pickleball, which was announced in October.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Association of Pickleball Players to expand The Botanist’s Alignment with the pickleball community and support the sport’s overall growth in the U.S.,” said Nicolas Beckers, CEO & president of Rémy Cointreau in the Americas. “At The Botanist, we are committed to fostering connections through the enjoyment of our award-winning gin. We are excited to contribute to this lively community and are committed to creating memorable experiences both on and off the courts.”

The partnership is set to begin during the Zimmer Biomet APP New York City Open from May 21 through 26. Spectators of the sport who are 21 and up can enjoy cocktails featuring The Botanist Gin while they watch the tournament.

The Botanist is made at the Islay distillery, Bruichladdich, which is very well known for its scotch whiskies. The gin brand announced it would be continuing its partnership with Major League Pickleball in the same news release.

The Botanist and APP hosted an Instagram giveaway that generated some buzz around the latest joint venture. Fans who entered the now closed contest were eligible to win VIP tickets to the Zimmer Biomet APP New York City Open. A lucky winner was selected to receive a $75 ReserveBar gift card and branded pickleball gear from The Botanist.

Bruichladdich’s The Botanist Islay Dry Gin includes 22 locally foraged ingredients, according to the Islay brand. The Islay distillery shared some of the botanicals include bog myrtle leaves, creeping thistle flowers and gorse flowers. The gin made our list of the 3 Best Gins We Tasted in February 2024.
