These Are the Best Gins in the World, According to the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge

These three gins were each awarded the Chairman’s Trophy at the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
On Monday, The Ultimate Spirits Challenge (USC) announced the results of its 2023 competition, which received a record number of submissions from over 50 countries, including China, Australia, India, Kazakhstan and Chile.
The judging took place in Hawthorne, New York, and identified 68 Chairman’s Trophy (the competition’s top award) winners, 300 Finalists and 514 Great Values. This year, the competition saw significant growth across various categories, including gin, Ready-to-Drink cocktails, mezcal, rum, tequila, vodka, whiskey and brandy.
Per the USC, each entry is carefully analyzed and rated on a 100-point scale by some of the spirits industry’s top judges, including buyers, journalists, educators, authors and bar owners. Spirits that score 85 points or higher receive detailed tasting notes, while those scoring 80 points or higher receive an individual results page with downloadable marketing materials.
As with all competitions, we here at Gin Raiders believe that consumers should also consider seeking reviews from tough critics, so as not to solely rely on awards. Nonetheless, according to the USC’s 2023 results, the following gins are considered the best in the world, having each earned the Chairman’s Trophy or a Finalist designation.
