In its fourth consecutive year as the official gin partner for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Archie Rose Distilling Co. has introduced a unique conversational card game named Tell It To Me ‘Straight,’ The Shout reported Friday.

Collaborating with Sydney-based queer artist Micke Lindebergh, the game aims to encourage open dialogue with questions like “Who isn’t a queer icon, but should be?” and “If you could go back in time to one pivotal moment in queer culture, when would it be and why?”

“This project was a fun collaboration,” Lindebergh informed The Shout. “Drawing inspiration from the progressive pride flag, this artwork is a celebration of colour and positivity.”

Available as an optional gift with Archie Rose’s Straight Dry Gin or Tailored Gin, the Tell It To Me ‘Straight’ game strives to add an engaging twist to upcoming Mardi Gras celebrations.

Running this year from Feb. 16 to March 3, the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras draws hundreds of thousands of attendees locally and globally, making it one of the world’s largest pride events. Featuring experiences like the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, Bondi Beach Drag Races, Harbour Party, Queer Thinking Panel, Mardi Gras Film Festival and Fair Day, the festival celebrates diversity and LGBTQ+ culture.

With its grand parade and dance party, the Mardi Gras is also a significant tourist attraction, contributing substantially to New South Wales’ economy with an annual income of around A$30 million.

Speaking with The Shout, Head of Hospitality Harriet Leigh expressed pride in Archie Rose’s partnership with Mardi Gras.

“We are immensely proud of our partnership with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras,” Leigh shared, per the report. “At Archie Rose, we are committed to celebrating diversity and inclusivity, and invite individuals from all walks of life to share their stories.”

During the festivities, Archie Rose will actively participate in Mardi Gras events, offering its signature gin and soda and bespoke Mardi Gras cocktails at official occasions like Fair Day, UltraViolet and Bondi Beach Party. The Archie Rose Land of Love at Fair Day will additionally feature unique activities representing all five love languages.
