6 Dead After Drinking Locally Made Gin Allegedly ‘Served by a Friend’

On Tuesday, six individuals reportedly died after drinking locally brewed gin, which is believed to have been “served by a friend” during a small gathering at a home in Ogun State, Nigeria, Gistmania reported.
According to the report, all six of the people who consumed the allegedly deadly gin passed away, while the man who provided the alcohol from his residence chose not to partake in it. Evidently, prior to the event, the six individuals and the accused had engaged in a heated argument, though it was subsequently resolved, per Gistmania.
In a gesture of reconciliation, the suspect apparently decided to offer the locally brewed gin as a peace offering, reportedly fetching a bottle from his own home. After the friends had dispersed to their respective destinations, two succumbed to the effects of the drink, while four others were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention, reported Gistmania.
The following day, the remaining four hospitalized individuals passed away. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the man who provided the alcohol remains unknown, a source stated.
When approached, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state confirmed the incident, expressing the families’ stance of choosing not to press charges and instead preferring to focus on burying their dead.
