Washington, D.C. tequila and mezcal spirits enthusiasts spent an incredible evening with Arte Agave, a traveling tequila and culinary festival for tequila and mezcal enthusiasts everywhere. The sold-out event took place on Sept. 6.

Besides being a spiritual wonderland for iconic agave brands like Don Julio, Illegal Mezcal and Tres Generaciones, Arte Agave served as a temporary home to delicious local cuisine and the work of D.C. artists. Guests witnessed eye-popping performances from dancers and extraordinary feats from talented acrobats.

Arte Agave and its sister festival, Whiskey Washback, were acquired by Bottle Raiders in May, and we’ve been keeping the party going ever since.

A Pivotal Event in More Ways Than One

Arte Agave

Bottle Raiders promoted the launch of its app at the D.C. event with giveaways and more.

Arte Agave D.C. also marked the first event since the launch of the Bottle Raiders App, and attendees scanned liquor bottles that were linked to Bottle Raiders’ extensive network of critics reviews. To celebrate the launch of the AI-powered app, Bottle Raiders gave away free bottles, T-shirts, shot glasses and more to guests who used the app to scan bottles.

The distinctive app includes a scanning feature that performs image processing techniques to identify the labels of liquor bottles. Optical character recognition (OCR) is used to read the text, and AI-driven pattern recognition identifies the logos and design of each bottle’s distinctive features.

In addition to scanning labels and seeing what the critics think, the Bottle Raiders App allows users to share their thoughts on each spirit and gauge the community’s thoughts about each bottle. Users can stay up-to-date on all spirits news and trends. The app is available for download on both Apple and Google Play stores.

Arte Agave DC Highlights

Arte Agave

Guests enjoyed authentic Mexican cuisine like nopales tacos.

In addition to drinking some incredible tequilas and mezcals, guests dined on brisket empanadas from Tequila and Taco, rajas with pork taquitos dorados from 7 Moltin, tostadas from Taco Bamba, and delicious tacos campechanos from Taqueria Picoso. Those with a sweet tooth indulged in boozy ice cream from Tipsy Scoop.

Attendees also supported small businesses by shopping from vendors like Andeana Hats, a company that sold alpaca wool hats from Peru, and La Mimi Boutique, which sells custom crafts made in Mexico. Pueblito Lindo Shop sold Mexican pottery, and even the Cacti Lady made an appearance, selling cat toys and Mexican earrings.

Yet the stars of the show were the spirits. Fans of Vascano Tequila could enjoy the brand’s Reposado in a Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita. Guests could even enjoy premium agave brands like Don Julio 1942 Rosado.
