The Drink of Fall 2023? Social Media Sleuths Believe They’ve Discovered What Cocktail Taylor Swift Was Sipping While Watching Travis Kelce and the Chiefs

Two unlikely groups — Swifties and sports fans — found themselves watching the same TV programming Sunday afternoon when pop superstar Taylor Swift was spotted at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, attending the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears.
Swift is reputed to to have a new “Lover” on her radar and was presumed to be there for her rumored beau — star tight end Travis Kelce. This theory was strongly supported by Swift’s presence in Kelce’s suite, where she watched the game while chatting with his mother, Donna Kelce.
Everything Swift-related goes viral and is amply discussed, and this was no different. Every detail of Swift’s appearance at the game has been placed under the microscope, from the 12-time Grammy Award-winner’s “Let’s f—ing go!” celebration after Kelce scored a touchdown, to her outfit and even meal and drink of choice. A post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, of Swift posing next to a plate containing a single piece of breaded chicken and “ketchup and seemingly ranch” has been viewed more than 13 million times and “liked” more than 32,000 times.
What Was Taylor Swift Drinking at the Kansas City Chiefs Game?
Swift was also spotted with a drink, and the social media world is confident they know what red drink was in the artist’s plastic cup: a vodka cranberry. Social-media posts galore have agreed the singer was sipping a vodka cran, with one X post of Swift sipping the drink through a straw garnering more than 530,000 views and 28,500 likes. The post was captioned “chicken tenders and ranch then a vodka cran that’s my girl fr like.”
The drink does indeed look like a vodka cranberry, and the theory is strengthened by the fact that we know Swift is partial to vodka. In 2016, the singer told Vogue her favorite cocktail was vodka and Diet Coke.
It’s unclear whether Swift is a huge fan of vodka cranberries in particular or if she ordered the drink partially for aesthetic reasons, as the drink’s hue matched the color of her Chiefs windbreaker, nails and trademark red lipstick. Regardless, it seems as though the color “Red” will follow her forever.
In any case, bartenders across the world should probably prepare for an influx of vodka cran orders this fall. Swifties are everywhere, and a simple drink order is an easy trend to latch on to.
After the game, Swift — who’s back to being “Miss Americana” with Kelce after ending things with her British partner, Joe Alwyn — was spotted racing off in Kelce’s “Getaway Car,” with no security — just the couple.
Later that night, the pair reportedly joined Kelce’s family and teammates at Prime Social Rooftop in Kansas City for an after-party lasting until 2 a.m. to celebrate the Chiefs’ 41-10 route of the Bears. As reported by Entertainment Tonight, an eyewitness spotted Swift in a denim dress snacking, dancing with Kelce and enjoying “some cocktails” — more vodka crans, perhaps?
