About This Cocktail

This protein-packed cocktail contains no protein powders, relying instead on real ingredients like milk, peanut butter and peanut butter powder, and a whole egg. Inspired by the classic flip but with a protein upgrade, this version evokes the flavor of a peanut butter cup while maintaining the balance of a proper cocktail and contains around 16 grams of protein.

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz aged rum (or bourbon )
  • ½ oz crème de cacao
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter (unsweetened)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter powder (PB2-style)
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 oz whole milk (or soy milk)
  • ½ oz maple syrup (optional depending on sweetness preference)
  • 1 dash aztec chocolate bitters

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients into a shaker with no ice.
  2. Dry shake hard for ~30 seconds to emulsify the peanut butter, egg, PB powder and milk.
  3. Add ice and shake again until well chilled and smooth.
  4. Double strain into a chilled coupe or small rocks glass.
