This month was quite busy for gin, with major brands and craft distilleries alike unleashing a bevy of juniper spirits the world over. To help keep you in the loop on all things botanicals, here are the 20 top gins released in June 2023 that we believe you need to know about.
Celebrate Pride Month With Craft Gin Club’s Rainbow Bottled Gin

At the beginning of June, Craft Gin Club and Wessex Gin released a limited-edition Respect Gin to celebrate Pride Month. The gin, presented in a rainbow bottle, combines juniper, coriander, angelica, orange and lemon, resulting in a traditional London Dry Gin with a citrus twist.
For each bottle sold, Craft Gin Club will donate £5 to Across Rainbows, an organization supporting LGBTQ+ individuals experiencing domestic abuse. The gin is available for purchase at £37.05 ($46.44) for club members and £39 ($48.88) for the general public through Craft Gin Club’s online shop.

‘Preserving the Ephemeral Nature of a Season’: Gin Distillery Bottles Up Spring and Summer in Vintage 2022 Expression

At the beginning of June, Cambridge Distillery released Vintage 2022 Spring Summer, a seasonal gin created with locally foraged botanicals. The gin, crafted using a unique “novo-dimensional distillation matrix” process, offers a ripe pineapple profile enhanced by hawthorn blossom florals.
Limited to 600 bottles, it is priced at £150 ($186.77) and is recommended to be enjoyed over ice or in a basil leaf-garnished martini.

Krispy Kreme Releases ‘Ethical Gin’ Made From Doughnut Scraps to Help Tackle Food Waste

In early June, Krispy Kreme partnered with Ethical Spirits to release “Little Joy Spirits,” an “ethical gin” made from doughnut chunks and glaze that would have otherwise gone to waste. The gin combines the flavors of doughnut glaze, citrus and traditional botanicals like angelica root, coriander seed and cardamom.
Priced at 3,300 yen ($23.67) per bottle, it serves as part of Krispy Kreme’s efforts to tackle food waste.

This New Gin Celebrates the Terroir of an Iconic Wine-Producing Region in France

Officially launched in March but first crossing our desk in early June, OXXiTAN Gin is inspired by the landscapes of Languedoc in the South of France and features characteristic plants from the region.
The brand’s original dry gin, Les Remparts, offers honey and pear notes with a genepi hint, while the citrus-forward Littoral adds lemon and orange peels. OXXiTAN Gin is available in select countries and priced at around $45 per 500ml bottle.

G’Vine Launches 1st New Gin in 17 Years in Collaboration With ‘Money Heist’ Star Jaime Lorente

In early June, French gin producer G’Vine launched a limited-edition gin in collaboration with “Money Heist” star Jaime Lorente. The gin features ingredients and a bottle design inspired by Lorente’s childhood and personality.
The release also coincided with the “El Vividor” campaign, which aims to celebrate the joy of life. Priced at around $40, the gin showcases bell pepper, citrus, raspberry and black pepper notes.

‘A Timeless Blend of Tradition and Taste’: Anglo-Saxon Museum and Distillery Pays Homage to Its Heartland With Dry Gin

In early June, Ad Gefrin, an Anglo-Saxon museum and whisky distillery in Northumberland, released Thirlings Dry Gin in honor of World Gin Day. The gin captures the essence of Northumberland with botanicals representing its natural surroundings. With flavors of heather, pine, elderberry and sea buckthorn, the gin invites imbibers to savor the heritage of the region.
Thirlings Dry Gin is available for purchase online and at the museum for £39.00 ($48.95) per bottle.

In early June, Purity Distillery launched Organic Craft Nordic Dry Gin, a London dry-inspired spirit that combines Nordic botanicals with a juniper-forward profile. Made with basil, thyme, juniper, lingonberry, blueberries and lavender, the gin boasts a long-lasting flavor profile.

Bombay Sapphire Continues ‘Premier Cru’ Line With Travel-Retail Exclusive Gin Showcasing Tuscan Juniper

In early June, Bombay Sapphire introduced Tuscan Juniper, exclusively available in travel retail at select airports worldwide. This limited-edition gin features late-harvest juniper berries from Tuscany.
Crafted using a vapor infusion process, the gin offers a sweet and pine-fresh intensity from the juniper berries and a subtle anise flavor from Tuscan fennel seeds. Priced at $55 per one-liter bottle, the 47%-ABV gin contains no artificial ingredients and is recommended for use in classic cocktails.

Comedian Suzy Eddie Izzard Teams Up With Edinburgh Gin on Limited-Edition Release

In mid-June, renowned comedian Eddie Izzard teamed up with Edinburgh Gin to create an exclusive, limited-edition gin that supports artists at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The collaboration aims to help new generations of performers start their careers at the festival.
The gin features traditional botanicals as well as supplementary botanicals corresponding to the letters of the word “believe”: bladderwrack seaweed, elderflower, lemon myrtle, inca berries, echinacea, verbena and elderberries.
Priced at £35 ($43.91), the limited edition bottles will be available from August, with profits going toward supporting emerging talent.

Scotch Whisky Producer Loch Lomond Marks 151st Open Golf Tournament With Special-Edition Gin

Loch Lomond, in partnership with The Open golf tournament, announced the release of two limited-edition whiskies and a special-edition gin in mid-June to commemorate the 151st Open Championship. The new spirits follow the success of Loch Lomond’s previous releases celebrating The Open Golf Competition’s 150th Anniversary.
As part of a five-year extension agreement, Loch Lomond has launched The Open Special Edition Gin and a series of limited-edition single malts, solidifying its position in the world of golf. The Open Special Edition Gin draws inspiration from The Royal Liverpool Golf Club and will be available for the first time at The Open.

Gin Made With Sustainably Foraged Botanicals Highlights UK Charity’s 50 Years of Conservation

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of conservation charity Bailies of Bennachie, Little Brown Dog craft distillery launched a special edition gin in mid-June. The small-batch spirit features botanicals foraged from Bennachie Hill, including gorse, heather, blaeberries, lingonberries and wild raspberries. For every bottle sold, £5 will be donated to support the efforts of Bailies of Bennachie in maintaining footpaths, preserving flora and fauna and promoting the hill’s historical significance.
The limited-edition Bennachie Edition gin is priced at £35.00 ($44.29) and is available online and at select retailers. Only 300 bottles have been produced.

Citadelle Gin to Expand Core Range With Red Berry Expression

In mid-June, Citadelle Gin announced its latest permanent offering, Citadelle Rouge, which is set to be available for purchase in the U.K. market in July. Citadelle Gin’s new expression showcases a blend of fresh blackberry, blackcurrant, cranberry, raspberry and rhubarb.
With the additional inclusion of juniper, coriander, orange peel, cardamom and cinnamon, Citadelle Rouge aims to create a harmonious interplay of botanical complexity and vibrant fruity essence.

Prominent Spirits Producer Hides $32K Worth of Diamonds in Gin Bottles

In the middle of June, Whitley Neill, a leading gin producer in the U.K., hid £25,000 ($31,981) worth of diamonds in 15 bottles of its Distiller’s Cut London Dry Gin as part of an initiative to revive the tradition of passing down heirlooms. The brand aims to encourage people to keep their own traditions alive by providing an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.
Discovering one of the hidden diamond engravings on the bottle corks grants winners an ethical diamond, with a minimum carat weight of 0.4. The promotion runs until the end of August, and participants must email a picture of the cork and its serial number to enter the competition.

Caorunn Cask Aged Gin can be enjoyed neat or paired with ginger ale.
Priced at £45.00 ($57.31) per 70cl bottle, it is available on the brand’s website in limited quantities of 797 bottles. The gin offers tasting notes of creamy juniper, bright citrus, vanilla pods, peppery botanicals, delicate oak and a creamy texture with spiced toffee notes.

Near the end of June, Welsh rugby player Sam Davies and his fiancé Elianna Chavez partnered with Hensol Castle Distillery to launch their own gin brand, Toca Vida. With the guidance of master distiller Dai Wakely, the gin collaboration has been in progress for almost a year.
The gin features a citrus-forward profile with Cuban pink grapefruit, Sicilian lemon and lime flavors, and is priced at £36.96 ($46.97) per 70cl bottle.

Four Pillars’ Higher Proof Rare Dry Gin to Hit Travel Retail Shelves

At the end of June, Australian spirits producer Four Pillars Gin collaborated with travel retailer Heinemann to launch Rare Dry Gin Export Strength, a travel retail exclusive. With a 50.8% ABV, the gin maintains the same recipe as Four Pillars’ Rare Dry Gin but offers a bolder and more intense flavor profile.
Initially available at Heinemann’s Sydney Airport stores, the gin will later be released across the Heinemann network.

Tamworth Distilling Unveils Summery Watermelon Gin That Uses the Entire Fruit – ‘Rind and All!’

Tamworth Distilling, known for its crab-infused whiskey and the world’s first wearable and drinkable perfume gin, unveiled at the end of June its latest addition, Tamworth Garden Watermelon Flavored Gin. Made using whole watermelons and cucumbers as the base, the blush-hued gin is infused with grains of paradise, hibiscus and fresh mint, resulting in flavors of melon, lime and mint with hints of coconut and hibiscus.
Bottled at 40% ABV, it is available for purchase online and on-site at Tamworth Distilling for $55 per 750ml bottle.
