Months away from football season, Jason and Travis Kelce have joined forces to become investors, partners, owners and operators in Garage Beer. The business move represents a bold nod to their home city of Cincinnati, Ohio, where the best-selling beer imprint was founded.

According to the brand, which produces a 4%-ABV light lager alongside a lime-flavored alternative, the Kelces will be involved in every aspect of the company from here on out. As the beer angles for national expansion in months to come, expect to hear the NFL superstars singing its high praises across social media and ad campaigns.

Founded in 2015 by brothers Evan and Jake Rouse, Garage Beer started slow and steady before gearing up for runaway success in the 2020s. Forbes recently declared it the fastest-growing beer brand in America with 252% sales increase year-over-year, thanks in large part to steady popularity in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

“It comes down to quality for me. I think everyone knows I like to have a couple beers now and then, so being an owner of Garage Beer and heavily involved in making the best light beer is exciting, man! There is nothing better to bring people together than an ice-cold beer, and for Jason and me that is what beer is all about – friends, family and fun,” Travis Kelce said in a news release.

Though Garage Beer may be Jason Kelce’s first foray into alcohol brand ownership, Travis isn’t a stranger to the industry.

Less than a week before the 2023 Super Bowl, the NFL tight end signed on as an equity stake investor in Case Azul Tequila Soda. Alongside PGA Champion Brooks Koepka, U.S. Women’s Open Champion Michelle Wie West and actress Eiza González, Travis was among an A-team of celebrity backers that propelled the nascent spirits brand to stardom.

It should be noted that Casa Azul achieved further fame when it was spotted in the hands of Taylor Swift during a Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs game. With luck, Garage Beer will benefit from the same proximity to international pop stardom.
