On Monday, Anheuser-Busch announced that it is investing more than $20 million in its Missouri operations, expanding production capacity for Michelob ULTRA while launching a new workforce training center at its flagship St. Louis brewery.
The investment will fund upgrades at the company’s St. Louis brewery, its can manufacturing facility in Arnold, and other Missouri operations. The move is designed to support growing demand for Michelob ULTRA, which the company describes as the nation’s top-selling and fastest-growing beer, while also strengthening manufacturing capabilities across the state.
The announcement is part of Anheuser-Busch’s broader Brewing Futures initiative, a $600 million commitment to U.S. operations across 2025 and 2026 focused on manufacturing, workforce development, and community investment.
“We’ve proudly called St. Louis and the state of Missouri home for more than 165 years, and our commitment to strengthening this community and making a positive impact across the state has never been stronger,” said Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch.
In addition to brewery and packaging upgrades, the company will open a new technical skills training center inside its St. Louis brewery. The facility will serve as an extension of Anheuser-Busch’s Technical Excellence Center and will provide training in mechanical, electrical, digital, and operational disciplines.
The company said it aims to train more than 90% of its manufacturing workforce over the next five years. Since 2022, more than 2,600 employees have completed training through the company’s existing Technical Excellence Center programs.
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe praised the investment on X:

The investment is also expected to support production of Busch Light, currently the top-selling beer brand in Missouri, alongside expanded output of Michelob ULTRA.
To commemorate the announcement, Anheuser-Busch said it will relocate the iconic animated “A & Eagle” sign from its former Newark, New Jersey, brewery to its flagship St. Louis campus, where it will serve as a permanent reminder of the company’s manufacturing heritage.
The latest investment follows Anheuser-Busch’s induction into the Missouri Manufacturers Hall of Fame earlier this year and reinforces the brewer’s efforts to position itself as one of the largest investors in American beer production and manufacturing infrastructure.
