Zacapa Completes Heavenly Cask Collection With Rum That Celebrates Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks

Guatemalan rum producer, Zacapa has announced the release of its final edition to the Heavenly Cask Collection. The latest expression, Zacapa La Pasión completes the four-part limited edition cask series with a rum finished in highly sought-after Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks.
The Heavenly Cask collection is comprised of four unique solera-aged rums, each celebrating different casks. La Pasión – The Passion Cask completes the collection, following La Doma – The Taming Cask, El Alma – The Soul Cask and La Armonia – The Harmony Cask.
Solera aging is a process that includes a multitude of cask types that are blended perpetually allowing for consistent flavor across the bottlings. Each of the Heavenly Cask Collection expressions focuses on a different cask that is used in Zacapa’s Solera aging process.
La Pasión comes from the mind of Lorena Vázquez, The Zacapa Master Blender for the past 37 years. The Passion Cask is a celebration of the Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. This edition is bottled at 40% ABV, similar to the rest of the range produced by the brand.

This expression is described by the brand as a mahogany liquid with notes of prunes, raisins, dates, rich vanilla, coffee and chocolate.

Zacapa La Pasión will be available in selected markets including Italy, Spain, Greece, Germany, the Nordics, Benelux, Switzerland, Poland, Guatemala, México and Central America from November with an RRP of £75 ($91 US).
