In a recent incident reported by the San Bernardino County Sheriff, a case of alleged child endangerment has resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old woman in Rialto, California. According to reports, the woman allegedly fed her 7-week-old alcohol to stop the infant from crying.

The event unfolded at around 12:44 a.m. on Saturday when authorities responded to a distress call, per Fox 11. Upon arrival, deputies found a baby showing signs of intoxication. The paramedics promptly transported the infant to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

The baby’s mother, identified as Honesti De La Torre, was reportedly driving through the area when she chose to stop momentarily to pour alcohol into her baby’s bottle. Fox 11 reported that she then offered the bottle to the baby in an effort to stop the 7-week-old’s crying.

The current condition of the baby remains undisclosed at this time. Law enforcement apprehended De La Torre on charges of child endangerment. Following her arrest, she was confined to the West Valley Detention Center pending further legal proceedings, according to the report.
