The Football Association of Wales (FAW) and Wales-based Hensol Castle Distillery have partnered up to produce a limited edition release gin in honor of Wales’ World Cup milestone. The gin celebrates the team’s first participation in the World Cup Finals since 1958.
#TogetherStronger is a Welsh dry gin and sources its name from the team’s mantra. Only 5,000 bottles have been produced for this special release.
Hensol Castle Distillery is a part of The Vale Resort, which has been the official training venue and hotel for the Wales football teams for over ten years. The team also moved its headquarters to offices at the Vale Resort in 2020.
“There is no doubt that Wales football fans across the country are celebrating the team’s success of reaching the World Cup Finals and will continue to do so throughout the tournament,” said Ian Davis, commercial manager of the FAW, in a report. “What better way to toast them on their way than with a drink, distilled in the very grounds they train in, which bursts with Welsh flavour.”
Hensol Castle Distillery is located in the historic 17th century Hensol Castle and is South Wales’ first full scale gin distillery. The distillery offers guests a gin school experience, tours and gin tastings. A wide range of flavored gins and gin liqueurs are distilled by the spirits producer, with multiple expressions winning awards at both the London Spirits and the Gin Masters competitions.
#TogetherStronger can be found here, priced at £30 ($34.25) per 700ml, 41% ABV bottle.
