32,000 Cases of Twisted Tea, Worth Nearly $1 Million, Go Missing From Distribution Center

In a daring theft that has seemingly left the authorities puzzled, approximately $800,000 worth of Twisted Tea, totaling 32,000 cases, went missing from a secure distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee. This boozy caper unfolded nearly two months ago, but its exact timeline so far remains a mystery.

Blues City Brewery, nestled in the 5100 block of East Raines Road, dispatched a substantial haul of Twisted Tea on September 1, News Channel 3 reported last week. An impressive convoy of 17 to 18 trailer loads transported these tea-flavored alcoholic beverages to the distribution center located in the vicinity of Memphis International Airport. Initial scans and documentation confirmed the safe arrival of the products at their intended destination.

However, the plot thickened when reports started to pour in from disgruntled clients who alleged that they never received their expected Twisted Tea shipments. According to News Channel 3, the distribution center operates behind closed doors, accessible exclusively to authorized personnel, rendering the theft all the more perplexing.

Memphis Police have since initiated a comprehensive investigation into this high-value beverage heist, which, according to the report, is ongoing.

Another perplexing booze theft took place in December 2022, when an 800-kilogram (about 1,763 pounds) steel ball full of 230 liters of craft gin was reported stolen from the bottom of Lake Constance. To this day, the missing gin ball has never been found, and local authorities dropped the case only one month after it was started due to a “lack of any new information.”
