‘Not a Fond Memory for Me’: Travis Kelce Claims His Brother Once Pinned Him Down and Poured an Entire Bottle of Jose Cuervo Down His Throat

On the latest episode of their weekly podcast, brothers Jason and Travis Kelce got into the dirty, tequila-soaked details of their college dorm life.

Years before becoming NFL superstars, the up-and-coming pros lived with each other during their two-year overlap at the University of Cincinnati. According to Travis, however, not all memories were as fond as others.

“There was a random bottle of Jose Cuervo Gold sitting in the living room — warm, I should say — and it was my 21st!” recounted Travis with a smirk. “Sure enough, turning 21, Jason wanted to make sure that alcohol was forced upon me.”

The house — filled with an entire team of UC Bearcats linemen — wasn’t going to let Travis get a good night’s sleep.

“Clock strikes midnight and here comes the Calvary,” chuckled Travis. “One 300 hundred-pound man on each arm, one 300 hundred-pound man on each leg. And Jason comes in and says… ‘Open up!'”

Jason playfully denied the story as Travis described him pinching his nose and pouring down his throat an “entire bottle Jose Cuervo, the entire fucking bottle, to the point where I cough up the tequila after one gulp. It goes through my nose, into my eyes and all over my fucking bed.”

“For the rest of that season, my bed had a teeny scent of tequila at all times.”

“Classic big brother move right there,” interjected Jason.

Though similar incidents have left many college students swearing off tequila for the rest of their lives, Travis would eventually come back for more. In February, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end signed on as an investor in Casa Azul Tequila Soda alongside PGA Champion Brooks Koepka and actress Eiza González.

Mimicking Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s infamous WWE catchphrase, Travis told rival hard seltzer brands to “know your role and shut your mouth.
