La Maison du Whisky brand, Transcontinental Rum Line (TCRL) announced the release of High Seas, its first-ever multi-island blended rum specifically crafted for cocktails and mixing.

TCRL began in 2016 as an independent rum bottler owned by La Maison du Whisky, a large French whiskey importer and distributor. The brand is known for its many single-cask offerings from around the world, spanning from Asia, Australia, to the Caribbean and beyond.

High Seas is the first multi-island blend to be presented by the brand. The rum is a blend of three regions renowned for rum production: Panama, Jamaica and Martinique. The liquid contains a tropically aged rum from Panama, an unaged high ester from Jamaican rum and an unaged grand arôme rhum agricole from Martinique.

With three distinct production styles, High Seas is designed to encapsulate the essence of these distinct and iconic rum-producing provenances. This, like most of La Maison’s rum releases, is additive-free to showcase the rums themselves with little adulteration. High Seas is bottled at 45% ABV.

This release was made with the drink-making community in mind and used the blend of unique rums to create something that can easily be enjoyed in a cocktail like a daiquiri or in a simple rum and coke.

High Seas may be a very complex rum due to the blend of individual styles of rum production.  The brand describes High Seas as having aromatic notes of ripe banana, toffee, pineapple, dates and lily flowers. On the palate, the rum should taste of bitter orange, chestnut honey, salted butter and ginger with a long roasted coffee and candied lemon finish.
