Smirnoff Ice is set to unveil the latest addition to its Ready-to-Drink (RTD) collection, Lavender Lemonade. According to The Drinks Trade, the limited-edition offering is “subtly” inspired by the musical influence of global pop sensation Taylor Swift.
The prominent vodka brand, owned by spirits giant Diageo, has also strategically aligned the release with Swift’s upcoming Australian tour.
“Smirnoff lives and breathes music, so when we saw the line-up of incredible musicians and artists making their way to Aussie stages this year, we knew we had to get ready for it,” said Smirnoff Marketing Manager Maddy Stockwell, per the report.
“With the colour purple having its moment, we’re leaning into our lavender era with the launch of Smirnoff Lavender Lemonade, creating a new taste that sparks excitement.”
Scheduled to hit liquor stores nationwide on Feb. 13, Smirnoff Ice Lavender Lemonade will be available in four packs at a retail price of $21.99.
In March of last year, buzz began circulating about a purple-hued gin cocktail being served at The Eras Tour pre-party in Arizona. Following its traction on social media, the drink, known as the Lavender Haze, quickly earned the title of the official beverage of the tour and, in essence, Swift herself.
Then, in January, news circulated that the pop star had a new favorite cocktail: the sweet and sour French Blond. Previously, Swift’s favorite cocktail was widely understood to be a Vodka Coke. Notably, both the Lavender Haze and French Blond feature citrus juice, gin and an elderflower-based ingredient.
